Night Light — Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
Night Light is a reading light for iPhone. It turns the screen, or the flashlight, into a warm, dimmable light. This policy explains what the app does with your data, which is: nothing.
What Night Light collects
Nothing. Night Light does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting of its own. The app never connects to the internet.
What stays on your device
Night Light remembers a few settings so it opens the way you left it:
- the profile you chose on first launch (Bedside, Reading, or Utility)
- any presets you save (mode, warmth, brightness, timer, and toggle states)
These are stored only in the app's own preferences on your iPhone. They are never sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.
Camera permission
Torch mode uses the flashlight. iOS controls the flashlight through the camera hardware, so the first time you switch to Torch, iOS asks for camera access. Night Light uses that permission only to turn the flashlight on and off. It never captures photos, video, or audio, and it never reads anything from the camera. If you decline, Screen mode keeps working and Torch mode is simply unavailable.
Children
Night Light collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date at the top.
