Night Light — Support
A warm, dim reading light for iPhone.
Getting in touch
Report bugs and ask questions by opening an issue: github.com/JoeFerrucci/night-light-privacy/issues. Include your iPhone model and iOS version.
The basics
- Warmth. Tap Red, Amber, Warm, or Neutral, or swipe left and right anywhere on the screen.
- Brightness. Drag the slider, or swipe up and down anywhere on the screen.
- Ultra Dim. Lets the light go darker than the iPhone brightness slider allows.
- Keep Awake. Stops the phone from auto-locking while the light is on.
- Timer. Turns the light off after 5 to 60 minutes.
- Lock. Tap Lock, or press and hold the screen, to freeze every control. Tap Unlock to restore them.
- Presets. Tap Save to keep the current settings. Touch and hold a preset to delete it.
- Power. The circle button in the top corner turns the light off and on without closing the app.
Torch mode
Torch uses the flashlight instead of the screen. iOS asks for camera permission the first time because the flashlight is part of the camera hardware. Night Light never takes photos or video. If you declined the prompt, enable it in Settings > Apps > Night Light > Camera.
Common questions
- The light turned off by itself. A timer was set. Tap Timer and choose "Until Off" to disable it.
- Nothing responds when I tap. The controls are locked. Tap Unlock at the bottom of the screen.
- Torch is unavailable. The device has no flashlight, or camera permission was declined.
- The screen is darker than I expected. Turn off Ultra Dim.
Privacy
